Sections: Overview
The Sections module allows you to create menus referred to as "Sections" and submenus referred to as "Subsections" that serve as navigational links for your website. The Sections module provides the capability to add, find, edit, delete, and reorder sections/subsections.  It also allows the Administrator to assign section permissions (e.g. View/Add/Edit/Delete/Approve) to groups or individuals via the Roles Assignment function.
Sections: View Sections
1.  Click on the Sections menu.  The Sections View page displays the following information:

Section Name -
the name of the section 
Active - Yes indicates this section has been approved to be published in the web site
Public - Yes indicates this section can be seen by all web site visitors, both members and non-members
Subsection - Yes indicates this is a subsection (linked to a section)

2.  To view detailed information about a section, click on the section name.

Notes:

a)  To set the maximum number of sections to list per page, click the down arrow on the Display (per page) box and select a number.
b)  To navigate to a specific page, click the down arrow on the Page box and select a page number.
c)  To navigate to the next page, click the Next Page link.  To navigate to the previous page, click the Previous Page link.
d)  To set Filter options, select an option from the Show All States box and/or the Show All Types box.
 
Sections: Add a Section
  1. Click on the Sections menu.  
  2. Click the Add button.
  3. In the Section Name box, type a name for the section you want to create (Example:  Corporate Profile).
  4. In the Status area, you can select from the following list of options:
Active: a check mark indicates that this section/subsection is approved to be published in the web site
Public:  a check mark indicates that the new section/subsection will be seen by all web site visitors
Subsection: a check mark indicates this is a subsection
Parent Section: if this is a subsection, you must select the name of the parent section from the list
  1. In the Selection Type box, select from the following list of options: 

If you selected Forum Link, click the down arrow on the Forum box and select the Forum name.
If you selected URL link, enter the website address in the URL Link box.  
If you selected Article Link, click the down arrow on the Article Link box and select the Article name.
If you selected Page Link, click the down arrow on the Page Link box and select the Page name.
If you selected Form Link, click the down arrow on the Form Link box and select the Form name.
If you selected URL (New Window), enter the web site address in the URL Link box.
If you selected Form Submission, click the down arrow on the Form Link box and select the Form name.
If you selected Form View, click the down arrow on the on the Form Link box and select the Form name.

  1. Meta Description:  This defaults to the Setup meta description and can be edited or replaced to give this Section a unique description. 
  2. Meta Keywords:  This defaults to the Setup meta keywords and can be edited or replaced to give this Section unique keywords.
  3. Click the Add button at the bottom.
Note:  If you click the Reset button, it will clear the form. 

 

Sections: Roles Assignment
Administrators can assign individuals or groups to roles such as Authors (who can add content) or Editors (who can edit content) for specific Sections.   Note:  You must specify at least one Author (individual or group) and one Editor (individual or group) for roles assignment to work. 

1.  Click on Sections menu.  
2.  Select the section you want to assign roles for.
3.  Click the Roles Assignment button. 
4.  To assign roles by users:  Select By Users in the first box and select either Author or Editor the second box.  From the Users box, select a user name (e.g. Author, Editor, Contributor,...).  In the Non-Member list, select one or more Section names then click the >> button to move the selected Sections over to the Member List.
5.  To assign roles by groups:  Select By Groups in the first box and select Author or Editor or Section Member in the second box.  From the Groups box, select the group name (e.g. Content Author, Content Editor, Content Contributor, ...).  In the Non-Member list, select one or more Section names then click the >> button to move the selected Sections over to the Members list.
6.  To save your changes, click the Update button (or click Close to return to the previous page).
Sections: Modify a Section
1.  Click on the Sections menu on the left side of the Administrator screen.  The Section View window displays.
2.  Click on the section name for the section you want to modify.  The Section window displays.
3.  Make modifications as needed (e.g., Order Articles, Status, Section Type, Roles Assignment, Meta Description or Meta Tags).
4.  Click the Update button to save your changes.
Sections: Order Sections
  1. Click on the Sections menu. 
  2. Click the Order button.
  3. Depending on what you would like to view, do one of the following:
a)  To view only sections, click Main Sections
b)  To view subsections within a section, select the section under Main Sections then click Show Subsections
c)  To view all sections and subsections, click All Sections.
  1. To reorder the list, select the section/subsection name then click the Move Up or the Move Down button.
  2. To save changes, click the Update button.  To cancel changes, click the Close button then click OK to confirm.
Sections: Find a Section
  1. Click on the Sections menu.
  2. Click in the search box next to the Find button and type the section name (or one or more keywords) that you are searching for. 
  3. Click the Find button.  Matching section names (or keywords) are listed. 
  4. To view section details ( e.g., Status, Section Type, Meta Description, ...) , click on the Section name.
Sections: Delete a Section
CAUTION:  When you delete a section or subsection, all linked articles are deleted as well.  A deleted Section or Subsection cannot be recovered!!

1.  Click on the Sections menu on the left side of the Administrator screen.  The Section View window displays.
2.  Click in the checkbox to the left of the Section (or Subsection) name to select it.
3.  Click the Delete button at the top of the window.
4.  Click OK to confirm the deletion or click Cancel to cancel the deletion.
