Setup: Basics
  1. Click on the Setup menu then click on the Basics tab.
  2. In the Site Name box, type the title for the website (i.e., type one descriptive sentence).
  3. In the Administrator's Email box, enter the system administrator’s email address.
  4. In the Site Footer box, enter footer text (optional) for the site. Use toolbar buttons to insert special characters, images or to format text.
  5. In the System Message Display box, select how you want system error and status message to be displayed to the user.
  6. In the Default List Size box, select how many items to show the user in the Admin tool.
  7. In the Name Format box, select a format (e.g., Username) to be used in the By Line/Author column in Articles View.
  8. In the Date Short Format box area, select a Date format and a Time format.
  9. In the Date Long Format area, select a Date format and a Time format.
  10. Click the Update button to save your changes or click the Reset button to clear your changes.>
Setup: Meta Information
Note: This is the default meta info used when specific pages are not given their own meta data.

  1. Click on the Setup menu then click on the Meta Information tab.
  2. Description: the default SEO/AEO meta description that will be used by the site (can be overridden).
  3. Other Meta Tags: optionally enter different/other meta tags that your site might want to use.
  4. Click the Update button to save your changes or click the Reset button to clear your changes.
Setup: Membership
  1. Click on the Setup menu then click on the Membership tab.
  2. Select from the following options:

    Allow public registration: check mark indicates public users will be allowed to register with the web site.

    Validate user email with confirmation email:  check mark indicates when a user registers their user/subscriber email address, a confirmation email will automatically be sent to the email address submitted.

    Public registration requires administrator’s approval:  a check mark indicates that new registered users will be placed in Pending status until manually approved by the Administrator (i.e., Pending status is deselected).

    Customer single user login: select this option to change the number of minutes for Timeout and User Refresh Rate for front end single user logins.

  3. In the Public Group box, select an option (e.g. Users).
  4. In the User Signup Email Message box, type an email message (optional) which will automatically be sent to a new user.
  5. Click the Update button to save your changes or click the Reset button to clear your changes.

Setup: Index Settings

Note: Indexing can improve search/retrieval time.

  1. Click on the Setup menu then click on the Index Settings tab.
  2. In the Articles Index area, click a button to Create or to Reindex or to Delete an index for searching articles.
  3. In the Pages Index area, click a button to Create or to Reindex or to Delete an index for searching pages.
  4. In the File Index area, click a button to Create or to Reindex or to Delete an index for searching files.
  5. In the File Index Extensions box, file extensions that are automatically indexed are listed (i.e, .pdf, .txt, .html, ...).
  6. Click the Update button to save your changes or click the Reset button to clear your changes.
Setup: Site Design
  1. Click on the Setup menu then click on the Site Design tab.
  2. In the Template box, select a default template.
  3. In the Style Sheet box, (optionally) specify a style sheet to use. This should not be necessary as the system uses "default.css" as the default..
  4. In the Default Editor Options area, enter the Height and Width.   Note:  Enter "0" (zero) to use the default size.
  5. To save your changes, click the Update button.
Setup: Find/Replace
WARNINGS: Replacements are NOT reversible!! Find/Replace is a mass replacement tool. This tool should only be used for site migration purposes (e.g. to search for and fix invalid image URLs) and NOT to find/replace spelling mistakes in your website content.

  1. Click on the Setup menu then click on the Find/Replace tab.
  2. In the Look For box, type the value you want to replace (Example: Old Company Name).
  3. In the Replace With box, type the value which will replace the item (Example: New Company Name)
  4. To replace all instances, click the Confirm Mass Replacement option then click the Update button.  A message indicates if the replacements were successful or not.
Setup: Notes
The System Administrator can use this module to type notes related to the site setup.

  1. Click on the Setup menu then click on the Notes tab.  The Notes page displays.
  2. Type your notes in the Notes text box.
  3. Click the Update button to save your changes.
