Spots: What is a Spot?
A spot is a named strategic location in a web page template where content is placed.  For example, a spot named "FeaturedEvent" might display an image promoting an upcoming event.  The Spots module provides the capability to add, find and delete spots. 

Note:  Spots must be designed into the cymCMS template.


 
Spots: View Spots
1.  Click on the Spots menu.  The Spots View page displays the following information:

Spot name - the name of the spot location in the template

Active - Yes indicates the spot is approved to be published in the web site

Public - Yes indicates the spot can be viewed by all web site visitors
 
2.  To view details for a particular Spot, click on the Spot Name. 

Spots: Add a Spot

1.  Click on the Spots menu.
2.  Click the Add button.
3.  Type a name for the spot (do not use any spaces or special characters).
4.  Type/insert/format the spot content In the Content Editor window.
5.  Click the Add button.

Note:  In order for a user created spot to be seen in the template, it needs to be incorporated into the template design.

Spots: Find a Spot
1.  Click on the Spots menu.
2.  In the search box, type the name of the Spot (or part of it) that you are searching for.
3.  Click the Find button.  The search results are listed. 
4.  To view detailed information for a particular Spot, click on the Spot name.

Spots: Delete a Spot
1.  Click on the Spots menu.
2.  Select the spot name you want to delete.
3.  Click the Delete button.
4.  To confirm the deletion, click OK.  To cancel the deletion, click Cancel.
